Partner intellectual property (IP) is the key to creating earnings.
Solutions developed by partners can be sold to other clients.  We all know this at some level.  The catch is to start selling a solution to a client instead of quoting hours.  We promised you we don't want you to change your business model and that is a fact.  If you are completely happy swapping "hours for dollars" then we simply want to help you make a little more on the services you already consume.

If you want more income and greater margin on your contracts, it might be useful to think about turning your "libraries" into solutions.  Even more lucrative are solutions that you have already built that another customer might want.  That is getting value (reuse) of your intellectual property.  That is why Microsoft can say that partners earn $9.64 to their $1.

Making Money as a CSP Partner

Intact is a Direct Reseller of Microsoft Cloud services.  We work with partners.  Our partners are Indirect resellers getting paid for any service that is attributed (sold) by the partner to a customer.  Partners are generally paid a percentage of the service. You might guess from the 9.64 to 1 ratio discussed above, your percentage is less than 10%.  But that overlooks other incentives.  Intact keeps up with all the Microsoft "extras" helping you make more on every deal.

We know having a full work "pipeline" is very valuable to you.  Below, we explain how we help you get more and better deals.

The best way to explain the relationship is with a few simple examples.

 

Making Money: Simple Example

According to Microsoft, this is the most used partner sales model.

  • Indirect Reseller (partner - you) has a relationship with a customer.

  • You and your customer want to use Microsoft Cloud services including

    • Office 365, Dynamics 365, and Azure as the total solution.

  • You will be developing a solution on Azure and have some services in Office and Dynamics.

  • You would like to make recurring income on Microsoft Cloud instead of buying it and being responsible for it with no income (old model).

  • You know you can buy if from one of Microsoft's large resellers and you know they keep a chunk of the residual revenue.

  • You heard about Direct Reseller program and think it might be a better fit.

  • You really are a developer/consultant so Office and Dynamics is not too appealing (probably will take up time you could be coding).

  • You also think that there is too much risk in the billing and collection and you are not really setup for it, but recurring revenue is still appealing.

How Intact (Direct) can help you make more money.

According to Microsoft, this is a special case partner sales model.

Partner to Partner to Customer sales do not qualify for incentives, but there is an option when working with a Direct Reseller - you (partner) are the customer.  In this case you are the purchaser of Microsoft services.  Microsoft has no obligation to your customer.

This relationship is reserved by Intact for large partner accounts.  This is also the model used by providers of Software as a Service.

  • You have a SaaS solution or a customized service you wish to sell to your customer.

  • You come to the Direct for "best" pricing and support package.

  • You intend to provide your solution to the customer.

  • The customer wants Office and Dynamics as well.

  • You are fully capable of billing and collecting from your customer.

Other Earning Options

As an Intact Indirect Reseller you make money when your customer uses a Microsoft Cloud service.  But there are other earning opportunities as one of our Indirects.

  • Microsoft offers sales accelerators as special incentives to CSP Indirect Resellers from time to time.  As your Direct we are always looking for these special offers for you.

  • Certain projects could qualify for direct cash payments from Microsoft.  Intact as the Direct is your channel to the approval process for these.

  • One of the most exciting options for partners who make solutions (ready to buy) or partners who are ISV (independent software vendors) is the Microsoft OCP program.  Removing all the hype, Intact is an approved ISV and can help you get your solution approved and put your solution in the OCP catalog.  There it is available inside the Microsoft sales system.  Microsoft will sell your solution for you.

  • Cost nothing to be an Intact partner.
